Session Description:

Medication errors in the operating room remain a major safety concern. Learn why medication errors are still occurring and explore effective strategies to improve upon the safety of drug delivery during anesthesia.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Recall what constitutes a medication error.
  2. Explain common causes of medication errors in the perioperative setting.
  3. Describe process changes that have been shown to reduce medication errors in anesthesia
  4. practice.
  5. Discuss innovative strategies to enhance the safety of drug delivery during anesthesia
